Take a breather in the “Comfort Zone” Inspirations 2017 Maison & Objet Paris

How would you create physical calm in your home?  So that when you stepped into your space regardless of its size and structure, the constant demands and uncertainty of the world were washed away.

This inspired “Comfort Zone” from Maison & Objet  recently.

They suggest curves instead of straight lines, chairs made with tactile fluffy toys and tranquil colours to ease tension.

Summer House

The summer holidays are almost here.  Are you jetting off to your summer house?

If not, we hope this will inspire you.  Villa Ypsilon, Finikounda Greece.

Designed by the international architecture practice Lassa, the Ypsilon (or upsilon, used to refer to the Latin letter Y) shaped building appears to have seeped out of the ground with a green landscaped roof offering three distinct courtyards.  It is aligned to offer sea views toward Schitza, with further views to Sapienza, and the mountains to the east.  The structure nestles in the surrounding olive tree groves.

The 180 sq m interior was built-in seven months, using locally sourced concrete, terrazzo, and marble.

Lassa has two studios in Brussels and London.  Their Brussels studio allows them to test and pre-fabricate their ideas in real scale.  See their other project work here.
