Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July everyone!  Robert G Heft designed the American flag at the age of 17 as part of a school project.   The design features  50 stars representing each state, and 13 stripes representing the former British colonies.

Celebrate by getting inspired  by some innovative US based designers.  San Franciscan  interior design, and architecture giants, Gensler have designed the creative, and thoughtful 1+ million-square-foot workspace for the Facebook HQ Menlo Park, California.

Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day everyone!  George Stanley designed the Canadian flag, unofficially known as the Maple Leaf.  The red field with the white square at its centre, and eleven pointed maple leaf is based upon the flag of the Royal Military College of Canada.

20 Online Interior Design Software Programs.

CAD (Computer Aided Design) is used throughout the Interior Design industry and is an extremely useful tool to aid in design and presentation. To the beginner using CAD can be a daunting prospect.

So if you have never used CAD before you may like to ease yourself in gently with a fairly simple program – and there are in fact a number of free programs with excellent capabilities, so you can begin the process at no cost and slowly work up to more complex programs as your skills improve and your confidence increases. Mood board software

The mood board is a very valuable tool in the design process, used to bring ideas/schemes together to illustrate the designers overall style that they wish to pursue. In today’s digital age there are a wide number of options available. One of the most popular is Olioboard.

Olioboard is an online, interior design, mood board creator, where users can create 2D and 3D room designs using real products from a large number of popular brands. All items on olioboard link through to the retailers online store for purchase. Users are also able to upload their own images. Olioboard  also has a large community of home decor lovers who chat, compete in design challenges and have fun experimenting with interior design.
